ANTIQUE VICTORIAN X FANCY EMBROIDERY EYELET LACE BABY CHILDS WHITE JACKET COAT

Description

A very beautiful original mid to late Victorian child's coat that is hand created. The embroidery and lace work is absolutely fabulous, so much it is hard to describe so I am relying on photos. The sleeves are slightly puffy which is the way I have dated it. Take note to edges, each side and hemline are scalloped. The hemline is trimmed with thicker trim. If there was not a silk lining ( that is in extremely good sound condition with no holes or marks) the outside would be see thru because of the open eyelet work.  It is in extremely good sound condition with no holes; a bit of faint aging and only a few light marks that I believe just needs a light soaking to be refreshed. And afterall, if wearing on a child you would want to launder it anyway.  Measurements are taken laying flat, sides to together as if closed (the only closure is a hook/eye at the neckline) and then doubled when appropriate.
